Horse trekking through the 8 Lakes area

Since the road to Central Mongolia has improved, the 8 Lakes (Naimen
Nuur in Mongolian) area has moved "closer" to UB, meaning you
need to spend less time in a vehicle, giving you more time on
the trek. The 8 Lakes are one of the most scenic alpine area of
Mongolia. Accompanied by local nomads you will explore this area
on foot. As a bonus you get to relax in hot pools after the trek
and visit such highlights as Elsiin Tasarkhai (a large band of
sand dunes), Tuvkhon Monastery (probably Mongolia's most
spectacular monastery, perched on a high cliff), the Red
Waterfall (Mongolia's highest), Karakorum (the old capital of
the Mongol empire and now site of Erdenee Zuu, Mongolia's
largest monastery) and Hustaiin Nuruu Strictly Protected Area
(home of the original wild horse, the Takhi).
