Highlights of Mongolia’s Heartland by bicycle

By bicycle, we explore the heartland of Mongolia where our trail will end at
"The Great White Lake" described as Mongolia's prettiest lake. A bus journey will bring us to the start of our biking
adventure in Karakorum, ancient capital of Chingghis Khan and biggest monastery in Mongolia.
From there we will cycle through the undulating steppes, pass extinct volcanoes
and the deep gorge of the Chulut River, explore a hidden monastery, stay at hot springs to rest our
limps and visit Mongolia's oldest school.

By four wheel drive we explore the cultural as well as natural highlights of Mongolia’s heartland and the north: hidden monasteries, Buddhist temples, the ancient capital of
Chingghis Khan Karakorum, Mongolia’s two famous lakes: Terchin Tsagan Nuur and Lake
Khovsgol, the Khorgo volcano, hot springs and the endless open steppes. Day hikes give us the opportunity to reach beyond the vehicle tracks to capture summits or little used trails. At night we stay in comfortable ger (the Mongolian felt tent) camps or guesthouses. Suitable for all ages and level of fitness.

The eagle hunters of Bayan Olgii

In winter, the minority of the Kazakhs who live in the west of Mongolia have for centuries used eagles for hunting and still do so today. On this itinerary, you venture out to Bayan Olgii together with a Kazakh guide to join the family of an eagle hunter. There, observe the daily life in winter and join the hunter on his hunts.
